A few of the Events and Happenings that took place at The Hancock Town Square in 2013.


 

October 5 - Town Square dedication

11 AM - Local Vendors, DJ music
11:30 AM - Chicken BarBQ
1 PM Flag Raising - Lakewood Color Guard - Bagpiper
1:30 - Dedication Speech, Ribbon Cutting
2:30 - 4 PM - Cobblestone Crossing, a musical throwback group to the Kingston Trio and Brothers 4.

 

October 11-12 - Harvest Festival

Friday, 11th:

9 AM NBT: Cider, Coffee, donuts

10 AM Lourdes: Cookies & giveaways

11 AM - 2 PM Hancock Tel. Co.: Hot dogs, soda, chips, door prizes

 

Saturday, 12th

9 AM- 4 PM: Hancock Town Square
Crafts, Food, Refreshments, & Handmade Goods.

Noon: PTO Community Talent Show @ The Bandstand

1 PM 6th Annual Bob Ray Tractor Pull. Line up at noon at Fireman's Park.

Friday, October 18 - Band Concert

12 Noon

Hancock Middle School/High School Advanced Band will be performing a first-ever Town Square Concert. The concert will be at 12 Noon on Friday October 18 in the Town Square. The program will feature patriotic tunes, and brown-bag lunches are welcome. We hope to see you there! In case of rain, the concert will be rescheduled to Tuesday, Oct. 22.

 

Saturday, December 7 - 5th Annual Christmas Parade of Lights
Sponsored by The Hancock Chamber of Commerce and The Hancock Fire Department will be on December 7, 2013.
Line Up: 5 PM @ Fireman's Park. Parade Starts at 6 PM. Santa will arrive at the Town Square at the conclusion of the parade. He will be available for pictures, and be handing out Free Hot Chocolate and Cookies. Prizes will be warded by the HFD. Please call Dawn at 607-637-1404 to enter your float in the parade or if you have any questions.

Caroling in the Square

The Hancock Central School Music Dept., Allynwood Academy, and volunteers from the area will be in the town square to play, sing, and lead a community Christmas Carol sing-a-long on Friday, December 13th at 6:00pm. A candlelight singing of Silent Night with the community will close the evening. Please join us for an evening of song and good cheer as we celebrate the most wonderful time of the year! Light refreshments and Hot Chocolate will be available.

 

December 20, Friday  6:30 - 8 PM

Live Nativity Scene
A Live Nativity scene will be presented at the Hancock Town Square on December 20, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.
The scene will feature children and adults from the community portraying the characters in the Nativity story, as well as live animals. A reading of the nativity story from the Bible will be presented at 6:30 and again at 7:15. Hot chocolate and donut holes will be provided.
This presentation is being made possible through the efforts of many community members who have joined together to bring this celebration of the Christmas Season to Hancock.
